Bennington, Vermont – Jenifer Prouty with Maple Leaf Realty has been awarded the National Association of REALTORS®’ (NAR) Green Designation, the only green real estate professional designation recognized by NAR.
Jenifer achieved this prestigious designation after completing topic-specific course work designed specifically for REALTORS®. The designation courses were created in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of industry experts from across the country; ensuring designees gain comprehensive knowledge of green homes and issues of resource-efficiency in relation to real estate and home owners.
More specifically, Jenifer was trained in understanding what makes a property green, helping clients evaluate the costs/benefits of resource-efficient features and practices, distinguishing between industry rating and classification systems, listing and marketing green homes and buildings, discussing rebates and financing available to homeowners, and understanding how buyer and seller preferences may be inspired by resource-efficiency.
“I have been eco-minded since I was very young… from avid recycling to energy-conservation to sustainable building practices. The GREEN designation was a natural step for me to improve my knowledge and skills to help other home buyers and sellers make choices that support our environment and reduce our carbon footprint on the planet.”
“Living green is about making healthy choices that are also easy on your wallet. NAR Green Designees have the necessary resources and relationships to effectively work with you to find your next home or assess your next green project.” said Marc Gould, Vice President of NAR’s Green Designation. NAR’s Green Designation was developed in response to growing consumer awareness of the benefits of resource-efficient homes and buildings. The designation helps consumers understand the positive impact of home performance and identify REALTORS® who can help them realize their green real estate and lifestyle goals.
As an NAR Green Designee, Jenifer has gained the knowledge and the tools necessary to become a trusted green resource for Bennington County. For more information about Jenifer Prouty, please visit www.mapleleafvermont.com/agent
Congratulations, Jen, for achieving this distinction! I know first hand how passionate you are about living green. And now you’ll be an expert at helping your customers make better choices for the lifestyle they want to live.
Kathy…thank you for posting this! Will this be in the Bennington Banner?
We have not planned yet on placing an ad in regards to this. I stopped advertising in the Welcome Homes publication mainly because I find very few that actually read the Banner.
Social media seems to be the only real outreach for any kind of notice. I’m still learning how do maneuver that realm!
