Mary Woodward, our Administrative Assistant, probably didn’t know what she was getting into when she started here in January of 2015 but here she is and doing a great job. Having loads of experience – Mary has worked as an Executive Assistant in one capacity or another for over thirty years, giving Maple Leaf Realty the benefit of her experience and know how.
Running a real estate office takes a lot of patience, hard work and a good multi-tasker. Handling calls, paperwork, keeping up with ten plus agents, jumping through hoops, running around putting out fires, and at times starting a few, keeping the office stocked in coffee, pens and copy paper, all part of the job. Sort of like herding cats and Mary has proven to be a quite the rancher.
Mary is resilient, flexible and manages, at times, a crazy office with ease and grace. Her cheerful attitude and good sense of humor make for a pleasant work environment for everyone. She is the first point of contact when a call comes in or a customer walks through the door and it’s nice to know that Mary is the person they see or speak to first. She fits right into the culture of our office as a person who understands top notch customer service. All of the agents are thrilled to have her here, helping them be more productive and successful and her Principal Broker – me – a bit less stressed.
On a more personal side, Mary owns a home in Shaftsbury and spends her off time with her smart and funny granddaughter. Add a few cats and a dog who keep her grounded along with her skills at gardening and you’ll get the picture. With those gardening skills, we promoted Mary early on as Maple Leaf Realty’s ‘plant manager’ and if you come into our office, you will notice an office brimming with plants. She has quite the green thumb.
Thinking back on all the years before Mary joined us, I wonder how we did it. We certainly won’t be letting Mary get away anytime soon, she’s stuck with us. Maybe we’re just spoiled!
